Inventory Index |
|
The Main Menu (across the top of every page in this site) includes a link to the top-level
Inventory Index page. This is a straightforward list
of links to various major item groupings. Some of these links take you to lower level
Inventory Index pages and some take you directly to a list of items I have for sale.
The top-level Inventory index link list is also repeated on the lower left side of each
product page of this store.

|
The Specials link to the left has items I consider extraordinary buys.

New Listings |
|
The dates to the left are links to lists of "new" items (items I posted on the date indicated).
Note: The "New listings" only includes items that were previously not offered or were "out of stock". When I add an item to existing
stock, it does not show up in "New Listings".

Item # Search |
|
The "Item # Search" Box to the left searches only the Item# column of the
Tools-n-Gizmos inventory database. This is not a part number search, keyword search or site search.
It looks for an "exact match", so unless you enter a currently active 5 digit item number it will give you the "no matching items were found" message.

Database Search |
|
The "Database Search" Box to the left searches the Title and Description
columns of the Tools-n-Gizmos inventory database. This is not a site search and thus it will not look
for the search text on the specifications pages or any other supporting pages of this website - It only
searches the 2 fields of the database and displays a list of every item that contains the search string.
If you know the part number (or a portion of it), then use this search to find it.
This is a very basic text search function. It does not support "wild card", "whole word only", "case sensitive"
or "phrase" searches. The following examples demonstrate it's functionality:
Collet Chuck = Chuck Collet
= "Collet Chuck" = "chuck collet"
= CHUCK COLLET
Col will find all items that contain
col (e.g. Collet and
collection).
oll huc let will find all items that contain
oll, let and
huc in any order (e.g. Collet Chuck)

Tools-n-Gizmos Site Search |
|
The "Site Search" box to the left searches all pages of this site (that Google has indexed). Tools-n-Gizmos.com is made up of
over 5,000 static pages and an unfathomable number of pages that are created dynamically based on user input, current stock
and the ever changing database content. This search function is a Google search of the Tools-n-Gizmos.com pages that
Google currently has indexed (500 highest ranked pages), including specification pages, picture pages, item description pages, etc., etc.
If you see a part number (for example) on a page but the site search function does not find it. Most likely this is because Google
has not indexed that page or they have not revised their index to included the current version of the page, or the part number
may be imbedded in a jpg, gif, or pdf file which is being displayed on the page.
All the advanced features of a Google search are available to you (e.g. all words, exact phrase, at least one of the words,
without the words, etc.). Just key your word(s) and click search, then on the Google results page you can select "Advanced Search"
and refine your search of the Tools-n-Gizmos site.
